Are You Looking to Hire in January? – Secure Your Funding Now
If you are considering hiring a new graduate or intern this coming January, it is a good idea to get started now. OBIO H2BB is constantly sourcing new early career talent from top business and innovation programs.
A number of wage subsidy programs are available for hiring H2BB interns or recent graduates, however it takes time to secure the funding. Here are some programs you should consider applying for right away:
NRC-IRAP Youth Employment Program - Provides a portion of the salary cost, up to $20,000, to support a recent post secondary graduate under 30. The internship must last a minimum of 6 months.
OCE TalentEdge Internship Program (TIP) - Provides support for current college and university students (current graduate and final year undergraduate students), and recent Masters graduates (within three years of graduation), to work on R&D projects (these can include some business activities). Internships are for 4 months and OCE provides $10,000, company provides $5,000 cash and $5,000 in kind contribution
OCE TalentEdge Fellowship Program (TFP) - Provides support for Ontario-based PhD graduates and post-doctoral fellows to work on R&D projects to and [GB1] strengthen their capacity to develop new products, services, and processes. For each 12-month fellowship OCE contributes $35,000 and company provides $25,000 cash and $25,000 in-kind.
MaRS Student Work Placement Program – Provides 50% up to $5,000 of the wages (70% up to $7,000 for women in STEM, women in business, indigenous people, persons with disabilities, newcomers-in Canada 5 years or less) for a minimum 12-week full-time work co-op work opportunity.
