Dose of the Valley - Call for Applications

Date: February 09-10, 2016
Venue: UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay, 1825 4th St
Location: San Francisco, U.S.A. Southwest
Sector: Life Sciences

For the second year, the Consulate General of Canada in San Francisco and the Consulate of Canada in San Diego are pleased to host the Dose of the Valley program for the life sciences sector. This two-day event, supported by BDC Venture Capital and The C100, includes roundtable discussions, industry-led workshops, one-on-one mentorship, an investor/partnering pitch session, and a networking reception.

The program seeks to highlight Canada’s most innovative biotech, healthcare IT, and medical device companies to a US-based audience composed of investors, technology scouts, and key industry players. Programming for Dose of the Valley is created around the strengths and commercialization needs of each participating company. Up to 20 companies will be selected by a committee of local mentors and program leaders.

As a follow-on program to Dose of the Valley, participating companies will have the opportunity to participate in the 2016 Special Edition of the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) Initiative in California. The CTA initiative, managed by the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service, provides innovative and high-potential companies with support to access global markets and entrepreneurship services. This CTA initiative will be composed of virtual programming supplemented by two short in-market programs. Companies will participate in webinars, mentoring sessions and coaching while in-market programs will surround Dose of the Valley in San Francisco and Biocom's Global Life Science Partnering Conference in San Diego. The kick-off of this Winter special edition will take place during the Dose of the Valley event.
