Synaptive Medical Honoured in Fast Company’s Innovation By Design Awards

Synaptive Medical Inc.’s brain simulator training kit, which simulates the features of a living brain to allow users to practice procedures such as stitching a blood vessel, has received an honorable mention in the health category of Fast Company’s 2017 Innovation by Design Awards.

Newly qualified neurosurgeons lack repeatable realistic training materials for cerebrovascular surgery. Instead, they rely on animal models and cadaver tissue that restrict immersion, clinical workflows and variety of tissue pathology, among other issues. We designed a simulation platform to address these limitations and make it possible to conduct more realistic exercises that come closer to simulating actual surgical conditions.”
— Cameron Piron, president and co-founder of Synaptive Medical
