Pre-CAAP Company: MedStack Announces First Two Healthcare App Integrations

MedStack Inc., the Platform for App-Enabled Healthcare, announced at the 2017 HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition that its integrated native FHIR database API is now employed by healthcare app companies, with NXTSENS Microsystems Inc. and HandOff using it to integrate the data from their applications with enterprise healthcare systems.

“Data interoperability is a key challenge for digital health innovators,” says Balaji Gopalan, CEO and Co-Founder of MedStack. “FHIR is the first healthcare data interchange standard truly built with modern cloud technologies in mind, and is enjoying broad adoption across both innovators and large system providers. We are proud to offer this next-generation approach with our proven compliant hosting platform.”

NXTSENS has been developing in partnership with surgeons a soon-to-be-approved medical device that measures muscle condition post-traumatic injury. NXTSENS leverages MedStack’s HIPAA-compliant cloud hosting and FHIR database. Charles Allan, CEO and President of NXTSENS Microsystems, says, “MedStack’s solution enabled us to quickly integrate remote patient monitoring into our product”.

HandOff is a care plan management system that reduces hospitalizations for seniors through reliable, connected daily care and health status tracking with reminders in the home. Data sharing in the cloud and system integration is powered by MedStack’s secure, HIPAA-compliant cloud hosting and FHIR database API. Rich Carpenter, CEO & Founder of HandOff, adds, “Our partners - ACOs, Hospitals, SNFs, Medicare Advantage – demand the highest level of security so we turned to MedStack.”
