OBIO's Very Own - Inspiring the Future at Rotman

OBIO's Dr. Klaus Fiebig, CAAP Senior Director, Strategic Programs was asked to be a panelist on the Rotman School of Management - University of Toronto - Start-up & Entrepreneurs Panel.

The event was held in the Rotman Event Hall with the 2018 cohort interested in learning about entrepreneurship and how Rotman MBA students can get involved with the bustling startup scene in Toronto.

Klaus was joined by 3 fellow panel members: Kesem Frank (Founder at Nuco), Signy Roland (LEAGUE Inc.), Maegan Chang (REVLO) – as well as Brendan Calder (Professor and Entrepreneur in Residence at Rotman) and Joseph Orozco (The Hatchery at University of Toronto), all proud Rotman Alumni.

The Start-ups and Entrepreneurs panel event was part of the Rotman class of 2018 orientation program and was attended by the nearly all of the 350+ students enrolled.

The panel discussion was followed by an opportunity for students to interact directly with panel members at breakout sessions.  During the breakout session Klaus fielded questions from 50+ students about the healthcare startup space, how to get involved with biotech start-ups, industry trends, regulatory process, and his personal experiences with the start-ups he has been involved in.

Overall, there was a strong buzz in the room with many enthusiastic MBA students evaluating if entrepreneurship and the startup world would be the right fit in their very near future, we certainly hope so!
