AceAge closes Series A financing round

AceAge, a healthcare technology company with its innovative medication dispenser, Karie, announced that it has closed a CA $5 million Series A financing round led by Longliv Ventures, with the participation of a fund managed by the Bloom Burton Investment Group. Karie allows users with complex medication regimes to take their medication independently.

Molly Shoichet, professor of chemical engineering and applied chemistry and Canada Research Chair in Tissue Engineering at the University of Toronto, has been named one of the Top 100 most powerful women in Canada by Women’s Executive Network (WXN). The list recognizes the country’s highest achieving female leaders in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.

Dr. Molly Shoichet wins Canada's top science prize

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada has announced that Molly Shoichet, professor of chemical engineering and applied chemistry and Canada Research Chair in Tissue Engineering at the University of Toronto is this year's recipient of the $1 million Gerhard Herzberg Canada Gold Medal for her work designing gels that mimic human tissues.

University of Waterloo to launch new $35 million medtech innovation centre

The University of Waterloo and the City of Kitchener will officially partner to bring a med-tech centre to the city. The facility will be home to health innovation and medical technology including a wet lab for chemical/materials science, four biosafety labs, and universal product development space.
